It was in 2011 that Arvey met Elizabeth; she was part of a group of 30 people that would have the pleasure to watch Yubarta whales in the Colombian Pacific, guided by Arvey as the leader of the excursion. It was a few months after that the passion for traveling made their paths cross again and this time, cupid would join their heart.

Arvey studied accounting and worked in that field for 6 years after graduating as a professional in this career; at the same time and for the last 15 years he has worked in experiential tourism specializing in nature, adventure and Colombian culture. But it was 7 years ago when he decided to bet it all to follow his passion, at which time he quits his day job as an accountant and devotes 100% of his energy to be the leader and owner of a tour operator agency called RetroCiclas Tours Colombia, a winning company for the last five consecutive years of “Certificate of Excelence” awarded by Tripadvisor, the most important webpage for traveling in the world.  At the same time, Elizabeth has worked as an Electrical Engineer for a successful company, and now it is her who decides to make the leap of faith to undertake a new challenge with Arvey. Build a family, live in the countryside, grow their own food, lead a more peaceful life and breathe nature.

This is how “La Union” was born, a coffee farm with more than 3000 coffee plants of Castillo variety coffee, fruit trees such as Papaya, Guava, Mango, Banana, Guanabana, Avocado, two varieties of Lemon, Orange and Tangerine; In addition to a beautiful forest of bamboo and large Nogal trees.

Now, Elizabeth y Arvey want to open the doors to their home to share rural lodging that allows you to experience the culture of the Colombian countryside, learn about the production of specialized Colombian coffee, and explore day-to-day life of the farmers, their traditions, their food, even the unique kinds of transportation still used in the coffee culture.
